Castle
Howard Estate, near York in North Yorkshire is one of the finest
stately homes in England. It is the ancestral home of The Hon.
Simon Howard and his family.
Ronald Falck has been the
Artist in Residence since 2004 producing a range of art works,
and
at the same time running a series of
varied Art Courses which are listed under the Visitor Services
Portfolio. These sessions have proved extremely popular over
the years and are enjoyed by artists of varying ability. There
are excellent indoor facilities (warm and cosy), in case of
inclement weather.
For more information regarding
these Courses, please telephone 01262 401334 (Studio). The
purpose of the
Artist's Castle Howard
Gallery page is to illustrate the first forty drawings and
paintings produced by the artist at Castle Howard, and gives
a flavour
of his personal vision in response to this magnificent Neo-Classical
setting. The site will be updated later with more recent
images. |

The images displayed in the Artist's Castle
Howard Gallery on this website, were sponsored by The Hon.
Simon Howard, and The Arts Council of England. These images
are intended to cater for several levels of art communication
such as realism, sign and symbol, or perhaps visual metaphor
or simile. They show the versatility of the artist, responding
creatively to capturing the sensory by selecting the significant,
and translating the experiences gained through feelings into
the images which define moments in time. They are the result
of what he sees, what he feels, and what he thinks, or selects
because of its significance about the moment or the place at
the time, he communicates this using the artist's language.
